2011-2012 Marauders AAU Program

Granite State Marauders Baseball

Our training season will begin in September ’11 and conclude in July‘12.  During our initial training, in the fall, we participate in a fall league and do as much outdoor training as possible, weather permitting.  During the winter, we train indoors.  Our training facilities are located in Derry (SportsZone) and Bedford (Sportsplex).  As part of our winter training program, we have an (optional) training trip to Tampa, Florida in January.  We also plan to attend a major travel tournament during the summer (Cooperstown, Myrtle Beach, Baseball at the Beach), as well as other local summer tournaments.

Our home field for the 12U is currently in Derry. The 13U and older teams play at Gill Stadium in Manchester and Griffin Memorial School in Litchfield.  Our Head Coaches are paid staff  (usually with college/professional level playing/coaching experience).

Our program is more than just baseball.  A parallel goal for the program is to create socially responsible citizens who are also athletes. We do at least one community project each year. This past season we helped the NH Guardsmen Association bring home members of our own state Army Brigade for the holidays.

Our Program is divided into the Marauders Senior Program and Marauders Junior Program.

Marauders Senior Program

Our senior program is for 14 year olds and above.  This program begins in September with 6 weeks of weekly practices and games on the weekends.  When weather no longer permits us to be outdoors, we will break until January.  From October through December, the Senior Marauders teams will attend batting, pitching and catching camps put on by Marauders staff.  These will be 2-4 hour training sessions on selected weekends.   In January ’11 the teams begin twice weekly training until March.  In February’11 the teams begin an 8 week speed and agility program conducted by “Complete Athlete” in Sportszone, Derry. The AAU season begins the first week in April for 14U and not until June for the 15U (the 15U team breaks from April until the end of May due to High School Baseball).  The Marauders “Seniors” are also invited to participate in the (optional) winter training trip to Tampa, Florida in January.

Marauders Junior Program

Our junior program is for 11 to 13 year old players.  This program begins in September with 6 weeks of weekly practices and games on the weekends.  When weather no longer permits us to be outside, indoor training begins at one of our training facilities.  There will be practice twice weekly except for holiday breaks.  In January ’11 the teams continue twice weekly training until March. In February’11 the teams will begin an 8 week speed and agility program conducted by “Complete Athlete” in Sportszone, Derry. The AAU season begins the first week in April.  The Junior Marauders are invited to attend the (optional) training trip to Tampa, Florida in January.

Fundraising Program

The Marauders organization is a non-profit organization.  We have implemented a robust fundraising program to help our families with the cost.  For instance, we have annual wreath and pie sales for the holidays, raffle donated items such as Patriots and Red Sox tickets, Southwest Airline Tickets, our annual Black & White game at Gill Stadium and many other events as these are just a few.  With a bit of effort it is possible to pay for most, if not all, of the tuition through fundraising.  Each player has an account and ALL the funds they raise go toward their tuition, not into a pool to be shared.  So each earns what they work for.  One fundraiser a year goes to the organization to help with cost not covered by the tuition, for example, we may have a comedy night or something similar.

Contract

The players and their parents/guardians are required to sign a contract.  The contract includes the Marauders Code of Conduct, and financial responsibilities as well as an outline of the Marauders responsibilities.
